CENTRAL
Lan Kwai Fong is perhaps the most popular
and well known expatriate haunt in Hong Kong for a night out. Boasting
numerous bars, pubs, clubs and restaurants, it is a popular choice for
the well off locals, expatriates and tourists.
The high costs associated with the area makes this a relatively high classed
area. It is one of the few areas where English is the overwhelmingly predominant
language, many of the Chinese who are there are most likely to be bilingual.
The place is most crowded during special occasions such as Halloween or
New Year's Eve. Thus, police control is guaranteed to manage the crowds.
The Soho district, South of Hollywood Road is an entertainment zone located
in Mid-levels along the public Central-Mid-Levels escalator.
The area consists of restaurants, bars, nightclubs, the art galleries and
antique stores of Staunton Street and Hollywood Road. It is a cozy place
for drinking and dining.
